RNLI Baltimore Lifeboat Station

The search in Glandore resumes this morning at 8am. Lifeboats from Baltimore wiill join other vessels under the direction of the LE Niamh which assumed on scene command at 15:30 yesterday when she arrived in the harbour.

As darkness approaches the all-weather lifeboat Hilda Jarrett and inshore lifeboat Bessie have been stood down from the search. The lifeboats are returning to base in Baltimore Harbour. The crew of the inshore lifeboat RIB Bessie have been searching for casualties since early this morning in Glandore Harbour. Helm John Kearney & crew Tadhg Collins & Jim Baker are now being relieved by an alternate crew. The RIB has been refuelled and will rejoin the search shortly.

At 06:11 on Sunday morning the pagers issued an alert to launch ALB Hilda Jarrett. More news to follow as it becomes available.

Date: 07/12/2011 An alarm was raised today at 12:28 pm when a child required medical evacuation from Cape Clear Island. The all weather lifeboat Hilda Jarrett was launched immediately and brought the child to Baltimore pier.
