FUNDRAISING

Baltimore village has a population of approximately 350 permanent residents. This has increased in recent years from 250 residents. Despite this very small population, Baltimore Lifeboat Fundraising Committee has an illustrious reputation for fundraising and punches way above its weight. Baltimore raises over the national average and for such a small community, this is something to be very proud of.

The reason for such success is the very strong and proud Lifeboat community that exists in Baltimore and the great support the Committee receives from the Lifeboat crew.

The other factor which must be acknowledged is the Baltimore Sailing Club contribution through the annual Lifeboat Auction. There are several other fundraising events throughout the year, a sponsored walk at Easter, an annual flag day and church gate collection and many other events and generous donations from other organisations.

Baltimore is supported with the collections on the islands of Cape Clear and Sherkin during their annual summer regattas. The Committee also receives wonderful support from the fishing communities of Schull, Castletownshend, Union Hall, Glandore and the islands.
