The inshore lifeboat was called into action again this afternoon when a yacht making its way down the River Ilen became stuck fast in mud on a falling tide. Fortunately Helmsman Micheal Cottrell with crew Diarmuid Collins and Connor Dempsey got there in time to be able to pass a line to the yacht. The powerful twin engined ILB then pulled the yacht from a 90 degree angle to break the suction of the mudbank on the hull. Once free the lifeboat towed the yacht to the pier in Baltimore. Aboard the 34 ft yacht Seareign was a family party of a Dad with his three children. All are safe and well.
