At 1:33am on Tuesday 8th July coastguard services alerted Baltimore Lifeboat to an urgent medical distress call. A fishing vessel with 2 people on board had raised the alarm when one of them had collapsed. As the other fisherman was attending to the casualty he was unable to either haul nets or return the boat to safety. Coxswain Aidan Bushe took the casualty on board and crewman Diarmuid Collins was put aboard the 13m fishing boat to assist hauling nets so that the boat could return to Baltimore Harbour. The all weather lifeboat returned to station at 2:34 am. The casualty was given into the care of the ambulance service at 3am.

On board were Coxswain Aidan Bushe, Mechanic Sean McCarthy, Micheal Cottrell, John O’Flynn, Brendan Cottrell, Diarmuid Collins and Tadhg Collins.
