Baltimore Lifeboat Open Day

Next Sunday, June 28th , the crew of both the inshore lifeboat Bessie and the all-weather lifeboat Hilda Jarrett, will host an open day for the public.

At 2:30pm sharp the Hilda Jarrett will be launched from the boathouse at Bull Point, an exciting spectacle that can be viewed from the lifeboat car park. The all weather lifeboat will then proceed to the North Pier at Baltimore adjacent to the inshore lifeboat compound. Lifeboat crew will be on hand to give public tours of the boats and to explain how the equipment works.

At 4:30pm the lifeboat service will lead an exercise with Baltimore Sailing Club. They will simulate multiple dinghy capsizes requiring medical evacuation of casualties and the recovery of dinghies. We would appreciate the cooperation of harbour users in keeping the exercise area clear in order to allow the exercise to proceed unhindered. At 5pm the exercise will conclude and both lifeboats will be returned to their stations.
