Lifeboat in rescue operation in stormy conditions

The Baltimore Lifeboat was launched today at 15:23 in freshening force 7 winds. The MV “Ester Colleen”, a 16 metre converted fishing boat had got propped on it’s own mooring with two people on board near Reena Dhuna slip on the Ilen River estuary. With a rising tide in his favour Coxwain Ciaran Cotter towed the boat to safety in Oldcourt. The Sherkin Island ferry “The Black Point” and the Irish Coastguard dinghy stood by during the rescue operation.
