Baltimore Lifeboat rescues Sailing Boat in Roaring Water Bay

In dense fog weather conditions, the Baltimore Lifeboat, was tasked by Valentia Coastguard at 14:52 to go to the assistance of a 24 ft traditional sailing boat which had run aground on rocks.

The RNLI “Hilda Jarrett”, was launched immediately and proceeded to Roaring Water Bay to a point East of the East Calf Island, where she found the wooden sailing boat aground with two crew on board. On a falling tide, the lifeboat pulled the stricken vessel clear and towed her back to Heir Island. There were no casualties on board.
