Baltimore Lifeboat Station air sea exercise

Sunday 22 November

The crew of Baltimore lifeboat went to support flood rescue efforts in Skibbereen last Thursday after heavy rainfall and a rising tide flooded the centre of the town. The eight crewmen who made their way to Skibbereen that evening. were Cathal Cottrell, Aidan Bushe, Youen Jacob, Ronan Calnan, Ronan Sheehy, John McDonagh, John O’Flynn and John Rochford. They were well equipped for the task wearing RNLI dry suits, lifejackets and using borrowed dinghies. They assisted by ferrying stranded home and business owners to safety and with a vast experience of sea rescue were able to put people at their ease in difficult conditions.
